How to install ghiam.vn on your home screen (iPhone, Android, desktop)

ghiam.vn is a PWA (Progressive Web App) — you can “install” it on your device like a real app without going through the App Store or Google Play. Once installed, it opens full-screen with its own icon and records even without internet.

Why install instead of just opening the web?

• Faster to open — one tap from the home screen, no typing an address.
• Works 100% offline — record, play back and export files without internet.
• Your data lasts longer — browsers prioritize keeping data of installed apps (especially important on iPhone, where Safari can clean up data of websites unused for a while).
• Almost no storage used — the whole app is under 1 MB, hundreds of times lighter than store recorder apps.

On iPhone / iPad (Safari)

1. Open Safari and go to ghiam.vn.
2. Tap the Share button — the square with an upward arrow in the toolbar.
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Tap Add in the top-right corner.

The purple “Ghi Âm” icon appears on your home screen. Note: on iOS this must be done in Safari — Chrome for iPhone cannot install PWAs.

On Android (Chrome)

1. Open Chrome and go to ghiam.vn.
2. After your first recording, the “Install the app” banner appears — tap Install and you’re done.
3. No banner? Tap the ⋮ menu (top right) → Add to home screen → Install.

On desktop (Windows / macOS)

1. Open Chrome or Edge and go to ghiam.vn.
2. Look at the address bar: there’s an install icon (a screen with a down arrow) on the right — click it and choose Install.
3. The app opens in its own window, with an icon in your taskbar/Dock like normal software.

Verify it works offline

After installing, try this test:

1. Turn on airplane mode (Wi-Fi off too).
2. Open the Ghi Âm app from your home screen.
3. Record something and play it back — everything works, because the entire app and your data live on your device.

Uninstalling

• iPhone: long-press the icon → Delete Bookmark.
• Android: long-press the icon → Uninstall.
• Desktop: open the app → ⋮ menu → Uninstall.

Warning: uninstalling may also delete the recordings stored inside. Export important recordings to MP3/WAV before removing the app.
